Updates on packing of goods
Amazon has released a packing update for Amazon US.
- Use only one address sticker, with clear and complete shipping and return information.
- Each box in the shipment must have its unique FBA Box ID printed from your Shipping Queue.
- Each pallet requires four FBA Pallet ID stickers, one in the centre of each side. Each box on the pallet must also have its own unique FBA Box ID.
- When shipping multiple boxes in one large package, attach the unique FBA Box ID label to the outside of the main box.
- When reusing boxes, remove any old stickers, barcodes or labelling.
- Cover unwanted barcodes with opaque tape or use a black marker with a fine tip to make the barcode unreadable by crossing it out. This will prevent the wrong barcode from being accidentally scanned during the receiving process.
- Pack all items separately.
- Use sturdy packing material.
- Use strong duct tape designed for shipping.
- Place at least 2 inches of sealant between each item and the inside of the box.
- After packing the box, shake the box. The contents should not move when shaken.
- Use boxes that are at least 6 x 4 x 1 inches and weigh at least 1 pound to reduce delays in receiving.
More information can be found at the link.
Maximum box size must be no more than 25 inches on each side and weight no more than 50 pounds. Exceeding the size or weight may cause a delay in processing and Amazon may restrict you to FBA. The only exception that allows you to exceed the maximum weight and size is if the item itself exceeds a weight of 50 pounds or a size of 25 inches.
Any box weighing more than 33 pounds must include a "Team Lift"/"Heavy Package" safety sticker on the top and sides of the box. located on the top and sides of each heavy box (5 labels total).
